Big girl!

Dawson has now been moved (a little prematurely!)into her big girl car seat....she's not sure what she thinks of it yet, as you can see by her face. And even after a week, her reaction to this new world is unchanged. Of course, big brother had his own reaction as well!

March Madness

Can I fool myself into thinking I haven't blogged because I have two children under the age of 3 and work (mostly) full time? Or is it simply because I'm watching my brackets too closely?? Hey, anyone can win, right?

The kids keep on growing and showing me new (and sometimes unpleasant) sides to themselves. Having a 2 1/2 year old makes me realize how much I liked an 11 month old! But moments like these are too sweet. Jarrett is always protective of his little sister (or mostly) and these picture captures his protectiveness.

Life is crazy, were just trying to enjoy it.

Happy 90th (Great) Grandma

Ah yes, the strip tease! A little birthday present for his great grandma to which he earned 2.00 dollars! Where ever did he learn such a dance? One can only wonder.

We had a great visit with the family. It was a quick, but enjoyable visit with lots of family time for the kids and a little fun time for Mom and Dad. Until Dad took a little spill (later exacerbated by another spill down our back steps!)

Anyway, back to the doldrums of February and all that it (doesn't) offer. Spring can't arrive soon enough.

Brotherly Love?

It's times like these that are so precious. All my fears concerning Jarrett's acceptance of a little sister completely unfounded. His care and concern for his is so sweet and touching. It's reciprocated in a way that only an 8 month old can show her love. Big smiles every time her brother comes into the room, belly laughs when he runs amok in front of her. This may change one day, but for now I enjoy these little moments and try to take a mental picture in my head every time a sweet moment occurs.

Christmas time

Our caregiver, Lisa, hosted a Christmas party with a special arrival from Santa. Dawson was more interested in her thumb, Jarrett was pretty thrilled with his gift. Later, he turned to me with a mischievous grin saying "That's not really Santa!" I got a good laugh at that one. We've had a good month. It has slowed down a little and we are finally in a routine. We are looking forward to some family time during the Christmas break. We have no plans and like it that way. We'll take and enjoy each day as a family and try to slow down for a short time anyway. Merry Christmas!
